Shi-Jin Feng got a Ph.D. degree from Zhejiang University in 2005, and was exceptionally promoted to professor at Tongji University in 2012. Now he is the Minister of Department of Scientific Research Management at Tongji University. He is mainly engaged in the research of Geoenvironmental Engineering and Energy Geotechnics. He has published 330 papers including 197 SCI-indexed papers, edited and/or coedited 4 monographs and 2 national and industrial standards, and owned 35 granted China invention patents and 6 software copyrights. He is also a member of Technical Committee on Environmental Geotechnics of ISSMGE, a committee member of Geotechnical Safety Network (GEOSNet), and a deputy director of Geotechnical Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction Branch of Seismological Society of China, an editorial board member of the international journals “Computers and Geotechnics”, “Engineering Geology”, and “Georisk”. He has been the Principal Investigator of a National Key Research and Development Program of China, a National Key Basic Research Program of China (973 Program) for Young Scientists, and 10 NSFC projects (including 1 Major Research Instrument Development, 1 Key project, 1 Distinguished Young Scholars project and 1 Outstanding Young Scholars project), and has secured the Royal Society-Newton Advanced Fellowship and Xplorer Prize organized by the Tencent Foundation. His research results have won a first prize for Scientific and Technological Progress Award of the Ministry of Education and two first prizes for Shanghai Science and Technology Award and Shanghai Technical Innovation Award, respectively (all ranking first). The applicant was selected as the ‘Distinguished Young Scholar’ awarded by NSFC in 2017 and the ‘Leading Scientist’ of ‘Ten Thousand Talents Program’ in 2018, and also obtained the 15th China Youth Science and Technology Award in 2019, Shanghai Young Scientist Award for Outstanding Contribution to Science and Technology in 2020 and 1st Shanghai Outstanding Talent Award in 2023.
